Antigua - Yachts & Ocean waves

 RORC Caribbean 600 Regatta - Antigua Sailing Week - Yachting, Yachts & Sailing Paintings - Ocean Waves from the Caribbean.

Exhibition date from approx 23rd Feb - Al Porto, Jolly Harbour, Antigua, Caribbean.

Great set of paintings for a special exhibition in Antigua. Stunning turquoise ocean waves, ocean sunsets and sailing in the Caribbean sea. Full of vibrant concentrated colour, these paintings spring to life and bring you straight back to the warm glow of the tropical ocean. I have loved painting them, the colours and the light transport me straight of to the warm tropical islands I so adore

The final selection is yet to be made to take to the exhibition, but I am pretty close to crating the up and sending them on their way. I have reserved a special selection of the paintings to go for sale on the web sometime in the new year or just before for those of you who can’t make it to Antigua. If you are in the area, this is a good time to call at the studio as there are some great collections being prepared.

I loved painting this exhibition. Being absorbed in these beautiful colours and flowing forms was a real treat for me, in fact I spent a lot longer painting this exhibition than I should have because I just couldn’t put the brushes down. I loved the waves of the Caribbean, clean cut breaks and flowing sculpted lines of shades of turquoise, magenta pink and French ultramarine blue. Stunning shape form and flow. The yachts were the real reason for the visit to this magical island paradise. I asked around the Yacht clubs to hitch a ride on some stunning Yachts in preparation for my visit. Having sailed competitively and  windsurfed competitively the ocean and the wind are in my blood and this series of paintings bought it all back to me. A combination of work and bad choice of living location has meant I missed sailing for many years although I now surf regularly, but being in North Devon I am missing a really perfect sailing venue, so hopefully I can follow my paintings and set course for a perfect sailing location to finish off my next series of paintings on ocean racing which will take 12 months to complete.
