Energy Paintings From India

The Book

Energy Paintings from India are my art at its very best, pure distilled inspiration and joy of feeling. Its a bit like this. If you eat a bar of chocolate, drink a cup of your best coffee, or a glass or your favourite wine, just think of that wonderful feeling just before the first taste reaches your lips, the incredible thought of anticipation, it’s just before you actually get what you want that the feeling is at its most perfect, pure, the energy is there without being spoilt by the actual reality of fact which so often does not match the perfection of the anticipated desire. This thought of anticipation exists, it is ephemeral, and doesn’t quite exist, it contains all those wonderful feelings. It is not weighed down by the slow service, paying at the till, wondering if you can really have another or the let down after you have finished the drink.

This is what these paintings are all about distilled, concentrated feelings. Spiritual feelings are the finest of the feelings we receive they are quite subtle but like a fine silk, oh so beautiful when you can find them in their pure form. These Energy Paintings from India are the distillation of all my previous work into just a few special canvases. The focus for each painting was centred around certain energy centres of the body, I could feel them light up as I began to get inspired to paint, and this continued throughout the paintings process. The paintings provide a link, a subtle link through to this energy which was present when I painted them in these special and spiritual places in India.

For me I knew then link was there for my paintings and the joy they held, and I knew that many people felt uplifted and stimulated by the paintings, but I did not know how specific the link could be. This was until I took my first energy painting to a friend of mine, who is very sensitive to the inner workings and feelings of the spiritual realms. She could feel and distinguish the individual chakras on a more or less continuous basis. The first energy painting I did was called the book and its energy for me was centred around the crown chakra and it gave great clarity just above the crown chakra to an area up to 12 inches above this. I took the painting out from the roll of canvas and showed my friend, Kate. In an instance she wanted this painting it had cleared and energised the same area, just above the crown that I had felt when I painted the image. She told me how the painting had lifted her energy and awareness above the crown, to an area she had been unable to reach for many years.

The image related to a special site from where a Perfect Master worked and who resided in India. It was a simple place, very beutiful and peaceful. The painting reflected that it was of mainly one colour and simple, almost childlike in form. If I had thought about the painting I am sure I would have added more detail and other colours. It was done on the ground with dust blowing onto the canvas, and when I started I really had no idea what to paint. Because of the energy present during the painting very little though was present so the image stayed wonderfully simple, and I love the image to this day.

I have had all opf the collection of energy paintings in my studio, surrounding me for the whole year and it has been a real treat for me, helping me to hold onto that special energy which I can touch into so deeply in India.

What are the buildings in the painting? These two buildings hold a special significance in the spiritual context of India. On the left is a small square stone building where this Perfect Master entered a period of silence which lasted for the rest of his life with not even a single sound leaving his lips. The building to the right is a small timber hut in which the Master confined himself in to write what he described as the Book containing the meaning of life. Of course after his death the book was found not to be in existence any more, despite being locked in a bank vault in Mumbai in India for safe keeping.

The painting contains a part of the hidden truth in life. Simplicity and the silence emanating from the building in the left is written into the book written in the building on the right to convey the pure simple answer to life which cannot be spoken, said or thought, it is, Life is, the answer exists for the very purpose of the answer to life. Without life the answer would not exist and yet the answer is not life, it is an understanding of the very source of life which can only be found through the silence within the very mind which forms the cloud of life our very individual  existence. With upmost silence in between the start and the end from within comes the very answer that all thoughts are directed to find but never can because the answer is all there is and isn’t at exactly the same time, which is only perfect silence that can only be found when all else is exhausted. From within and without the very silence we could never find emerges and evolves to be the very noise we sought to escape to consume and discuss with every thought so that all that is becomes all that is not and so oneness is consumed by it’s very own self the one and only leaving nothing at all but the one which can only be which is nothing at all.
